Ciao, for me doing this interview is a big pleasure. Here the first question, who is BlackCat?
I am an apparently very serious person, but in fact, if I am between friendly which I like more is to laugh and have fun. I began in cosplay in 2004 and since then attempt not to lose the occasion to wear a cosplay in the important conventions.

How was born your passion for the cosplay?
My passion by cosplay began the first time that I went to an event of comics and saw people wearing cosplays and the having fun. In addition I always have liked the handicrafts, for me is very funny to do a cosplay as to wear it.

Who has introduced you to the cosplay?
In fact nobody introduced me to begin to do cosplay, I began by myself, although my liking to manga and comic comes by my sister.

What has been the first cosplay that you have done?
My first cosplay, more or less serious, was Rikku of Final Fantasy X.

Instead what has been the cosplay you liked to do more?
Cosplay with that I have enjoyed more doing it has been Link, I really like to make the sword and shield.

What has been the last cosplay?
My last cosplay is Yoko Ritona of TTGL.

What cosplay you would like to do in the future?
I would like to make a costume of not-manga character for the next comic convention in Barcelona, some people have suggested to me to do Aayla Secura of Star Wars, Psylocke or Emma Frost (editor’s note Please Do Emma Frost!), although I don’t like those characters very much, I must choose some fresh suit because this conventionis in June. Some suggestions? XD

How do you choose a cosplay?
First, it must be a character whom I like the personality. I usually like the strong girls with a hard personality. Later I watch if physically I look like it a little. If all this is ok, I analyze the costume and I watch if there is something would not know to do or if I am going to have enough time to finish it.

How long do you put us to create a custom?
It depends so much on the costume, sometimes there are very complicated sew patterns and other times there are costumes very easy to make that in a pair of weeks can be finished.

Is there anyone who can help you in preparing the costumes? Do you create the accessories or do you buy them somewhere?
Right now my greater helper is my boyfriend, who gives me ideas and helps me if I must have to do many equal pieces or if I have to cut hard materials.

Have you ever participated in the contest during conventions? Have you ever won any prize?
Yes, time ago I participated in contests although I never have won an important prize.

What means for you be cosplayer?
For me to be to cosplayer means to enjoy so much making cosplay as wearing it.

What are your projects for the future?
At the moment I do not have projects of cosplay for a distant future.

The dreams in the drawer?
Dreams, as a cosplayer to surpass me with each cosplay and to continue enjoying this hobby.

Ciao, per me è un gran piacere farti quest’intervista. Ecco la prima domanda, chi è BlackCat?
Apparentemente sono una persona molto seria, ma nei fatti, se sono fra amici che mi piacciono molto c’è da ridere e da divertirsi. Ho iniziato a fare cosplay nel 2004 e da allora in poi cerco di non perdere occasione per vestire in cosplay nelle fiere più importanti.

Com’è nata la sua passione per il cosplay?
La mia passione per il cosplay nacque la prima volta che andai ad un evento di fumetti e vidi le persone vestire in cosplay e divertirsi. Inoltre mi è sempre piaciuto i lavoro di artigianato, per me è molto divertente creare i cosplay che indosso.

Chi ti ha introdotto al cosplay?
Nei fatti nessuno mi ha introdotto ad iniziare il cosplay, ho cominciato da sola, sebbene il fatto che mi piacciano i manga e i fumetti venga da mia sorella.

Qual è stato il primo cosplay che hai fatto?
Il mio primo cosplay, più o meno serio, fu Rikku da Final Fantasy X.

Invece qual è stato il cosplay che ti è più piaciuto fare?
I cosplay che mi è piaciuto fare di più è stato Link, mi è veramente piaciuto molto creare la spada e lo scudo.

Qual è stato l’ultimo cosplay che hai fatto?
L’ultimo cosplay che ho fatto è stato Yoko Ritona da TTGL.

Quale cosplay ti piacerebbe fare in futuro?
Vorrei fare un costume di non personaggio non-manga per la prossima fiera del fumetto a Barcelona, qualche persona mi ha suggerito di fare Aayla Secura da Star Wars, Psylocke or Emma Frost (ndr per favore fai Emma Frost!), sebbene non mi piacciono molto questi personaggi, devo scegliere alcuni costumi freschi perché la fiera è in giugno. Qualche suggerimento? XD

Come scegli un cosplay?
Primo, deve essere un personaggio di cui mi piaccia la personalità. Di solito mi piacciano la ragazze dure con una personalità forte. Dopo vedo se mi assomiglia un po’ fisicamente. Se è tutto ok, analizzo il costume e vedo se c’è qualcosa che non so fare o se ho abbastanza tempo per finirlo.

Quanto tempo ci vuole per fare un costume?
Dipende molto dal costume, alcune volte è veramente molto complicato cucire i modelli e altre volte ci sono costumi molto semplici da fare che in un paio di settimane sono finiti.

C’è qualcuno che ti aiuta nella preparazione dei costumi? Gli accessori li crei tu o li compri da qualche parte?
Adesso il mio più grande aiutante è il mio fidanzato, che mi da idee e aiuto se ho da fare molti pezzi uguali e se ho da tagliare materiale difficile.

Hai mai partecipato ai contest durante le fiere? Hai mai vinto qualche premio?
Si, tempo fa ho partecipato ai contest sebbene non ho vinto nessun premio importante.

Cosa significa per te essere una cosplayer?
Per me essere una cosplayer significa divertirsi così tanto fare cosplay e vestirli.
